After the riots and death of a policeman in Sicily last night the Italian footy authorities have suspended all football indefinately. Does this put the champions league game vs AC in jeopardy? If they don't play, do they get a bye into the next round like spurs?
wot exactly happened to the officer? I heard something hit him in the face...is that true? Meh...sad anyway. The Milan game isnt being cancelled btw, just next round and an international match against Romania and an u/21 match against Bulgaria. Meh...thats still pretty sad... RIP Filippo Raciti 1968-2007
Hooliganism has never gone away from foreign football! All the eastern block are copying what we used to do and north african fans just want to have a riot... I'm sure there is far more violence than reported, but obviously a police man being killed is far more news worthy than someone who instigated a fight.
Its quite simple really. If you jack up the prices high enough you can deter some of the "lower" social elemets from getting into a premier game. Accountants and lawyers don't really go for hooliganism.

We have the occasional bit of trouble after matches over here but nothing like the scale of that violence.

The support and passion in Brazil, Argentina and Chile is immeasurable. They have some of the best rivalries in the world.
