Alan Shearer "wood" Have Been Dearer!!! The BBC still insist on employing this pathetic excuse for a football pundit, who makes me want to smother myself with a pillow every time his monotone drawl cranks up on MOTD... Why? Shearer scored shedloads of goals in an accomplished Premiership career, and has rightly received accolades and plaudits for that. But why do we have to listen to the most boring bloke on the planet waffling on in what is effectively a new career which requires an entirely different set of skills to the ones he has hitherto proven he possessed as a striker? In their current set up, the BBC already have better quipped ex footballers whom could be more creditably employed in the role of after game analysis; Gavin Peacock...(I also thought Le Saux was half decent; what happened to him?)... Yet the BBC keep wheeling out Alan Shearer, when it should be painfully apparent to everyone that the man all but ruins what is an otherwise decent football programme in Match Of The Day... If the BBC love Shearer so much and can't bear to part company, surely they can give him a spell on the bench for a while? (at least they're both completely wooden...)
Re: Alan Shearer "wood" Have Been Dearer!!! You should get the pundits from Irish tv on the bbc theyd cause a riot with their views. Eamonn Dunphy and Graham Souness dont hold back in giving stick where its due unlike the motd the guys who never have a scathing word to say bout anyone. motd needs someone to to tell it like it is and cause some controversy. Shearer and hansen have the charisma of a brick and mr potatoe head is just to nice to be a host.
