I think Rafa summed it up the best 'one team wanted to win, and the other didnt want to lose'. Overall, it was a very frustrating game.
I thought that Rafa got his selection wrong today, and should have changed it much earlier. Pennant got a lot of space on the right wing, and if Gonzalez had been on the left, i think he would also have got space and that Everton would have been stretched. There was no width out on the left which meant everything tended to go through the middle, which played into Everton's hands. We lacked invention and the majority of our moves broke down too early, either by being sloppy, or an Everton player closing down and putting on pressure.

I think this game also highlighted our need for a natural goalscorer, ie a poacher. We have not had one since Michael Owen left, we need someone who could nick a goal on days like today. Maybe Kuyt can be that man for us, but not when he is playing on the left.

Credit has to go to the way Everton defended today, and i think they definitely deserved the point they got out of the game, no matter how disappointing it was for Liverpool.

Liverpool were way below standard today

I thought that the first half was better for Everton and the second half was better Liverpool

It was a very boring match and the only good chance of the day went to AJ but he missed.
