Peter Crouch is a good player. But to win the Premiership, we need more than a good striker, we need clinical, strong strikers. Kuyt, in his first season of the Prem, has promise. Bellamy might not be as clinical this season, and we could do better, but at least he has pace and power. Crouch has done brilliantly if you look at the amount of goals he has gotten for us this season, but we could definitely do much better. he lacks the power and the pace, but most of all, the footballing knowledge. He gives away fouls constantly, most of them for climbing, when he doesn't need to. He can't shoot under pressure from 3 yards out. He can't head with force from 6. He's offside a lot, and does not peel of defenders or make runs (even if he is the master of the overhead kick!) I think it is time to offload Crouch, or stop starting him, and find another tall striker who has power and some sort of pace, which is clinical in front of goal more so than Peter. he can trouble defenders, but so can a lot of strikers, such as Drogba, and before you criticize Drogba's flailing arms, let us remind you that Crouch also does the same throughout the game. Crouch is quality, and he will do for the rest of the season, but when the windows open, we should find a better target man!
