With the end of the season fast approaching i was wonder what eveyone thought this seasons team of the year might be? I would go for - Given Eboue Vidic Woodgate Shorey Milner Essien Lampard Ronaldo Drogba Martins Now i know that these are clearly not the 11 best players in the Premiership, however when you look at how they have performed at their clubs I'd would say they deserved to make the team of the year.
Shay Given is a great 'keeper. However, he has been injured and missed a number of agmes this season. Jussi at Bolton has played every minute and is a superb 'keeper. The best of this year - by some distance.
I agree with fatfrank, Given shouldn't be in there. What keeper has conceded the least goals? Surely that would be the best keeper.
Headcase, that's not good logic. As you get the odd reserve keeper playing the odd game or two and keeping cleansheets. I think for a keeper to win it they have to play atleast half the season's games.

But that is about it...
Yeha i would put Van persie in there. i suppose i could see why you didn't put him in there though because of his injury and everything

Scholes is not a dumb replacement...you cant say that players are as good as there scoring tally. Scholes creates a lot more goals than Lampard ever did...look at the league table...look how many we scored compared to. RandomButter have no football knowledge what so ever!! NooB BTW Scholes was injured last season for 6 months...and the thread question is asking you 'What the team of the year is' therefore it is based on performances so Scholes > Lampard this season
To me with 12 games to go in the league this year the way my best 11 would look at the moment is James Eboue Carvalho Vidic Evra Ronaldo Essien Lampard Pederson Drogba McCarthy No right back i think this season has been great nor has a left back As i type this Drogba has just become top scorer this season grabbing his 16th in the league one more then ronaldo.
cant help but agree with the above post but i'd rather bolton's jussi in goal, such an underated player
