Who is the best premiership one-season wonder? You can choose anyone ranging from players who have only played one season in the premiership, to players who had one excellent season, but faded after. I choose Tony Yeboah
Yup, Yeboah. I was at Selhurst Park when he scored the best goal I've ever seen live, for Leeds against the mighty Dons (Down with the Franchise!), and the whole ground went quiet for about 3 seconds. Then Leeds went nuts, and most of the Wombles were clapping too.
I was at the game and will never forget that goal - you're right there was a stunned silence as nobody could take in what they'd actually seen. Carlton Palmer scored the best goal of his life in the same game but it never got a mention because of the Yeboah wonder-strike; sums up Palmer's career really. Yeboah scored an even better one against Liverpool at ER in the same season - I think it won MOTD goal of the season. He really was on fire that year although he had all the mobility of a wardrobe.

Didn't he win two world-wide awards in a row? and now his playing for a division 1 team. I remember seeing it on FM once.
