Having seen Carrick hugely impress this season i have to say that Michael Carrick is the most unique holding midfield player I have seen. If you carefully analyse his play he is a combination of Makelele/Redondo/Dunga/Pirlo. Carrick is absolutely brilliant and second to none in the way he links the defence and attack up and dictates the play from midfield. Carrick is the heartbeat of the Man Utd team just as how Dunga was for Brazil and Redondo was for Real Madrid but with Carrick I feel he is alot better than Dunga/Redondo as he is much faster and much more alert and his vision and awareness is absolutely brilliant too.
Carrick has been great for us this season. 18mil may have been too much but i dont and other Utd fans do not mind. IMO he is better than Makelele in most parts instead of defending.
