Liverpool are constantly referred to as being one of the Premiership's "Big 4" along with Arsenal, Chelsea and Man Utd. Do they deserve this tag though? Arsenal, Man Utd and more recently Chelsea have consistently challenged at the top of the Premiership and have won it each at least once. Liverpool, despite their history and the money they have spent, have not once even challenged for the title. In fact, the closest they came was in 1996/97 season when they were 5 points clear at Christmas and entering into a two horse race with Man Utd.... A two horse race in which they finished 3rd?????!! Yes, they are a top 4 side because thats were they sit at present, but realistically, they are not one of the big 3. Were Everton one of the "Big 4" when they finished 4th a couple of seasons back. No. Why?, because they will never challenge for the Premiership title.... Neither will Liverpool. So I'm sorry Liverpool fans, your club needs to do a hell of a lot before you can even be mentioned in the same breath as the Big 3. Think of it like this: * Take Rooney out of Utd and you've still got Ronaldo, Scholes, Giggs, etc * Take Lampard out of Chelsea and you've still got Drogba, Terry, Essien, Shevchenko etc * Take Henry out of Arsenal and you've still got Fabregas, Gallas, Rosicky, Gilberto etc * Take Gerrard out of Liverpool and you've got Alonso. I rest my case, disagree with me? Good, speak your mind!
What a absolute idiot ! Why are arsenal in the top 3 big teams when there 4th in the league. Liverpool have won more trophies in the past 3 or so years than Manchester United and Arsenal. When you take Gerrard out you have - Caragher, Alonso, Finnan and Kuyt Last English team to win all European honours were the mighty Arsenal and co have failed!
Take Gerrard out my friend and you still have Alonso,Garcia,Kuyt and Bellamy. With our recent success and winning more trophies than any other team in the 'Big 4' i think we are part of the 'big 4'. A bigger part of the big 4 than Arsenal.

When was the last Man United won a trophy? If so, Liverpool should be considered higher than even Manure if you talk trophy wise. When you drop out Gerrard and talk like that, it does not matter what players we have! As long as we are contenders it dont matter, we could have a team full of confernce players and be a top 4 contender, you dont need big names to be a contender. You can easily talk like that because you have a big transfer budget and buy big names. I think the ones who need to worry are the manc fans, your club is in debt and you have an idiot chairman, if this carries on you will have to seel all your big names, Ronaldo, Rooney, Giggs, Scholes, Ferdinand, Vidic, Neville ect. Then where will you be? Take a look at Leeds now, struggling to stay in the championship.

Yes I believe they still are though they've had bad seasons they won the Champions League 2005 and the FA Cup in 2006 and Rafa has got them into the last 16 of the Champions League, they have been drew with Barcelona last years winners and dont think this will be easy for Barcelona. Yes not doing that well in the league but maybe next year after letting some players go and getting some players in they will be in the Top 3 behind Man United and Chelsea.
