I've just read about Bellamy's apparent 'attack' on Riise ... for me, it seems a shame that his off-field problems are resurfacing. I'm not surprised, though, and it seemed a matter of time before they would show up. In fact, I'm almost stunned that it's taken until February for news of a Bellamy outburst to happen, although this might be the worst time of the season to have this kind of nonsense happening. With the cash infusion to be provided by our new American owners, it seems to me that we still need at least a world class striker and a world class winger. Top of my list for striker: David Villa, he's shown that he can perform at each new level he has risen to. A good finisher and with great pace...Villa would be a good replacement and improvement over Bellamy. Villa doesn't have the baggage, has the same great pace, and is a natural finisher. No qualms from this Liverpool fan if Rafa raids for Villa. World class winger? I'm a fan of Martin Petrov of Atletico Madrid, his pace is equal to that of a Gabriel Agbonlahor. Either way, seems that with Bellamy's potential for off-field issues and a potential cash infusion, Rafa could be pondering bringing additional firepower up front and maybe on the wings as well.
