My personal 2 pence: a) if I'm playing as a premiership team it's my #3 priority (EPL is first then CL then FA Cup then Carling Cup). I play my B or C team against lower division sides and my A team against premier league sides (unless I have an important match coming up like a CL or EPL match against a strong team). if I'm playing as a low division side I put the FA Cup as high a priority as the league I'm in. If you can get some lucky draws and end up against an EPL side you can get some nice money to fill your coffers with. I do wish, though, that the board wouldn't get pissed if you get thumped by a team 3 divisions above you. I lost 3 - 0 to Wigan one season and the board got mad.
same here...in order of imprtance to me in FM would be EPL and CL together, FA cup then league cup... in the league cup, whoever i play against, i always let my 2nd team have a run out, with a few from my youngsters as well, no first team name at all for the fa cup, in the beginning phase, i would put again the same 2nd taem (only if i face a small club), but when the competition progresses and i'm up against a bigger team, then i'll pull out the big guns BUT using still my 2nd keeper... once i've won the league cup using ONLY my reserves and youngsters..won 2-1 extra time against a full chelsea squad cech got pwned by eagles and lee martin
I actually like seeing my team in action as many times a possible, but I think that some competitions are definitely more important than others. While the Premiership, CL and UEFA Cup are the most important for the top flight, I can understand that for the lower div teams the FA Cup is very, if not the most, important. The problem for the teams who are still alive in various competitions is that the schedule becomes hectic and every game they play they risk injuries which will prevent them from using their strongest squad in the rest of the competitions. So normally I would say the more games the better, but not at the risk of losing the players for more important competitions. For me the FA Cup comes in third after the Premiership (1), which automatically leads to European Cups (2) if we finish high enough in the table.
I play my best team for Serie A games, 2nd team for Champs league group stages, 1st for knock outs and then a mixture of 1st and 2nd for Cup games, I change my team quite a lot to make everyone happy. I have quite a big squad with lots of great upcoming youngsters and i like to give them a run out. Just mix it up, make everyone happy, if i no longer want a player il reserve squad him or sell him
i dont take it serious its a game lol but still i put out a full team in all comps because if i win it i get a few mil in the bank
