It is indeed ironical that the last ten minutes of both halves of the first leg of the UEFA face-off between Man U and Lille provided the best entertainment for all the wrong reasons that ended in tears for both sets of supporters.

The first half involved the launch of tear gas to prevent Man U supporters from being crushed onto the steel railings that fenced the field while the second half saw hapless Lille supporters left facing an uphill task on their return leg to Old Trafford.

With the Lille management claiming that calling players to the touchline to protest is a "French tradition" (funny we haven't seen it displayed before !!!); its time for UEFA to step in and take charge of the situation. A stern warning and fine apart; I think the Lille coaching staff should be acted upon for inciting players and crowds that could potentially have led to the situation going out of control .

With little to talk about the lack luster first leg performance of both teams, I think at least Man U supporters would feel relived that a grinding result has been carved out in France which all but assures Man U's progress into the quarter finals.

Yep i cannot see Lille threatening to score at OT. Last night was cross after cross after cross. It aint easy doing that at OT because they cannot commit too many players forward.
