Following Man Utd's shall we say fortunate victory against Lille I began to question the rules on taking free kicks early. I dont dispute it has happened many times before in the premiership but does that make it fair? Watching the Blackburn v Leverkusen game I saw Blackburn attempt a similar free kick and were pulled back to take it again. This surely gives the referees power to be bias within the rules of the game so in my opinion there should be a clear ruling either way either all early free kicks are ok or none are.
yes, there should be a clear ruling. i remember Henry took a quick free kick against us in the 2004/2005 season, that won the game for arsenal. i think Quick free kicks Shouldnt be allowed.
That either should definitely be allowed or should defininetly not be allowed. Refs cant change decisions all the time. At the moment it seems if you can only do it half the time.
The ref let Blacburn take a quick free kick in their own half so why not in front of goal. No consistency at all!
