Even as a Liverpool fan I can see that C. Ronaldo has clearly improved as a player and has a good chance of winning player of the year along with Drogba/Gerrard et al.

But all of you must be wondering about the alarming dip in form of Rooney over this season. I honestly think the guy has gone backwards! What's happened to the spectacular goals he used to score? What's happened to the mazy runs where he'd go past 2 or 3 players easily and do a one/two to set up or score for you? He's not as good as when you first bought him and on current form is being carried by the team. Again on current form he's definitely not worth ?21 milliomn pounds! At what stage do you say I think we should cut our losses and send him on his way?

Rooney's not having his best season but we're not losing any sleep about it. he's still contributing to the team and working hard and laying on some assists. he's been asked to play on the left wing a number of games and it clearly doesn't best suit him.

Gerrard alongside Ronaldo and Drogba [IMG]

Again typical Liverpool fan, has to have one L'poo player in the running.

    Even Hansen hast mentioned Gerrard.

All I've heard is Ronaldo, Drogba, Scholes and Essien for the contenders.

Ronaldo will get it in my opinion and Rooney isnt having a great season as U4L said but maybe he has been told by Fergie just to sit back like in a central midfield role this season because United dont have any problems scoring at the moment.

Gerrard has been no where near Ronaldo or Drogba or Scholes.

As for Rooney he isnt playing at his best but he still has it in his locker and at games he can play really well.

well you cant see you dont see this skill because on motd it doesnt show the whole match, so unless everyone has seen every single match you arent going to see any of the other things he does so well. he hasnt been up to scratch in the scorign department but me thinks he has a fair amount of assists if anyone would like to check up that, or at least has been involved in a good amount of goals/chances.

also, BeggsY reminded me in his post, rooney hasnt always been playing striker this season for england nor man united, hes been placed in midfield in a few matches and midfielders arent always noted for the things they do.

True. If Rooney is back at foward as he used to and finds rhythm he will be better. But right now he is shite.
