Following this weekends carling cup final Jose has taken another dig at fellow manager Arsene Wenger and reminded the world how he is the "special one". He said: ?They have great boys ? but I wouldn?t be sad if a club gave me three, four or five years to build without having to win a trophy. ?Since I arrived at Chelsea, Arsenal have lost Premiership after Premiership. They lost to us in the Community Shield and now they have lost to us in the Carling Cup. ?They are absolutely brilliant young boys, a top manager and a team with a great future. ?But I don?t think they are winning a lot.? There is a stark difference between Jose and Wenger considering during Wenger's reign at Arsenal, he has developed a team which went on to win the double, complete and unbeaten season and produce a group of players who went on to help France win the Euro and world cup. In addition as a true manager he has further progressed the club by finding resources to fund the Emirates stadium. In contrast Mourinho has spent over a ?100 million on a set of established stars and when results have not gone Chelsea's way Mourinho has threatened to quit if he wasn't provided further funds to purchase another defender in light of injuries. Finally its sad too say Chelsea have some of the finest English players and he been able to get Lampard, Terry, Cole, SWP to produce on the big stage unlike France. Do you think Jose is as special as he would like to think he is?
He's a good manager and he implies good tactics for his team. He is cocky but without his attitude he wouldn't be as good as he is. He wants attention. I think he's the only manager in the world that can sort out the current Chelsea 'predicament'.
He never claimed to be "THE SPECIAL ONE". What Jose did say is that he is "A SPECIAL ONE" , as in one of a group of managers. Hope that clears that up for you. So it was Wenger that found the investors for the Emirates, i would of thought the board would of done that. Mourinho hasn`t threatened to quite if he never got funds this season for a defender, you are making up your own story's now. As a lot of Arsenal fans say , it isn`t a club manger`s job to help intentional teams.
Is Jose special? As you pointed out, different coaches can do different things. Could Arsonal win with Wenger if he had all the best players...maybe, maybe not...maybe he only knows how to build, not that there's anything wrong with that (just, shouldn't that be done at lower levels?). Working with a bunch of strong headed expensive top quality players, under pressure to win is another type of coach. It takes a certain person to be able to guild that sort of team. Another type builds great systems, and some do a combo of the phyco and the systems. I didn't think jose had it in him to build great systems, thought he was just a cheerleader type coach. Until he lost all his stars, at first the team didn't look good, and even some of his strongest fans were giving up on him. (you know who you are, lol)But I have to give him Kudos for making a system for his new group of players, and teaching them to move in a different way. Special? lol Big egoed? lol but guess that's how these guys get them to be coaches of the Prem.
Wenger has helped fund the new stadium by developing a team using a small transfer kitty and winning trophies which have brought money to the club. Furthermore he has the shrewd business sense to recoup transfer fees from players knowing he can fill their void i.e Viera for cesc. We would not have seen the Emirates so soon if Wenger had been begging for further transfer kitty after spending a £100 million. Its not a club managers job to help the international team, but if a club manager is getting the best out of his players in the first place then that will be there for all too see on the World stage.
You said he found resources to fund the Emirates, no the board got sponsors and took a loan to build the Emirates. Henry hasn`t done it consistently on the World stage yet but has done it at club level. Wenger should help England then, seeing as he works here if you think club managers should help international teams.

Yeh he does call him special some times. He is a very very good manager but isnt any different to any other good managers like Wenger and SAF.
he is a good manager, many a time have we seen chelsea losing and he makes subs, these subs then help the team come back and win a game. he has a great tactical mind, and his arrogance helps him take the risks he needs to take to win games. and you cant take a dig at jose without taking a dig at wenger because did anyone read wengers comments about fergie after the man u arsenal game? managers are always taking digs at each other, its called mind games and why not, he won the carling cup, hes allowed to feel happy is he not? also, wenger thinks hes all that as well
