Lets start a new tradition for years to come,
lets do a fantasy football league in this forum.
    (nfl-fourms fantasy football)

I know its way to early to talk of this, but
hey why not. We can do a 10 to 12 man
    league and have some fun.

This time etrain makes the draft. Last year
i didnt get to use my brain vs some of yours lol.
    Its never to late tho.

I wish you didn't duck out at the last minute man. You would have been a worthy advisary.. The league was still vrey competative, as I only achieved a mear 3rd place finnish. But, in a head-to-head league, anything can happen.

So, who wants to vote for a over-all point total league!?!? LMAO!!!

Maybe we could have a head-to-head AND a rotisserie league. That would be cool. I've never tried the rotisserie type league before. We could also get one where you have a cap to worry about.

We are actually looking at hosting a fantasy football league on NFL Forums...we're not sure yet if we'll be able to do that, though. The programming is quite extensive, so it all depends on whether or not it is too complicated.

    Good suggestion...keep them coming!

I'd be happy to do what I can to help with that. We have many seasoned vets here at the site, so it won't be a problem getting started. There will be about 14 or so of us already in a fantasy league together...

Anyways, let me know if there's anything I could do. [IMG]

I say add as many as want to get in, up to 32, i have no problem with the talant being thin, makes more challenging

Imagine that draft. You could take a nap before each pick.

32 teams!?! No way man. Could you imagine how crappy your roster would look with Rudi Johnson as your best player? I'm all for more teams in the league, but 32 is way too many. Maybe, 15 or 20 is o.k. I just can't handle a talent pool that would be that shallow.

Beef, you better keep that bag over your head. 32? What is this? The NFL? Anything over 14 is rediculous. I'd rather run a 20 team league with 2 conferences each having a separate draft. If we have 32 teams, we'll have to have 2 separate drafts with 16 on each side. That's the only way.

    Here's a fantasy football suggestion.
Ive been in a 20 to 18 team money
league. Here's the problem when you
have this many people in a league.
All the talent is gone and people end
up with horrible qbs 3rd down rbs etc.
    As there starters.

Our solution was simple, This works and
is alot of fun if you have 18 to 20 teams.
Draft 2 of everything. This means theres
    2 qbs,2rbs, 2wrs,2 tes, 2 def/special, 2 k
2 of the same. Example there's two randy
moss's in the draft. One will be taken in the
1st round another could be taken in the 2nd
    round.

Also anyone who drafts a qb automaticly gets
    there backup.

The 2 theory deal is made that all teams can
compete at a 18-20 team league. So you dont
have bums starting cause your draft postion
    was bad at 15 etc.

the formet for starters would work like this.
    * means starter

    *QB
    *QB
    QB

    *RB
    *RB
    *RB
    RB
    RB

    *WR
    *WR
    *WR
    *WR
    WR

    *TE
    *TE
    TE

    *DEF/SPEC
    *DEF/SPEC
    DEF/SPEC

    *K
    *K
    K

utility spot ? (whoever you take)
one free spot for any postion.

One last thing the kicker also goes
by team kicker. Therefore if you lose
nedney kicker, you would get his replacment
    like g anderson.

Waivers are the same who ever is
    highest priorty gets there player.
In order like the draft going for 20th
    spot down to 1 spot.

    Something to think about guys
if the league goes to over 15 we may
as well go to 18 or 20. Beleive me
guys its alot of fun and still competive.
You have to use your thinking caps still.

A lot of interesting points, but I want to point out two things:

    1. When you bring up ideas, make sure Commish SF can pull it off somehow. I assume Yahoo won't be able to accomodate a lot of complex changes. That doesn't mean we can't do it, but SF (with our help) will have to find an acceptable site to accomodate us.

    2. The more teams you add without splitting up the draft, it tends to benefit those that have the opportunity to surf the internet more than others. I'm not saying it is wrong or right, just an observation. If you have more than 14 teams, and a starting QB goes down, the guy who gets the replacement will probably come out looking pretty good. Like the NFL, a big advantage to winning in FFL is having your top stars stay healthy. The other reason is adding key free agents. Sure, there is the waiver period

My recommendation is that we go to two divisions, or some method of drafting the same player twice within the league. The only other thing that I have seen along this line that somewhat worked was to draft a "Team QB". So, instead of having to pick up Bulger and Warner, you own the rights to both when you draft the STL QBs. I don't know that I necessarily like that method, but I have seen a league or two pull it off. I haven't seen it with RBs before, and I definitely don't like it for WRs. Kickers wouldn't be bad though.

    ok the back up thing
I dont like WHAT IF U HAVE BYE WEEK!!!!!!!!!!
    than u have no QB
i think 18 teams max no more
    I think it should be
    1 QB
    2 RB's
    2 WR
    1 TE
1 utility (COMMISH DESCISION) which 1
    1 K
and 7 back ups which makes 15 x 20 ( you all make the descision

The people who were in it last year are AUTOMATICALLY IN
all people who werent need to make your intentions loud and clear
IF UR IN U ANNOUNCE DONT WAIT TIL THE LAST MINUTE LIKE DAWK who got in only becuz of bucs40 being unable to be in
He got lucky some might not be as fortunate

I know its only January but i think we should have a keeper league and after this year stop new members!

    PLEASE VOICE OPINIONS ON INTENTIONS

I like the idea of setting the league's members and having it be a keeper league. I think it will make it more competitive over the long haul.

    Giants,

The whole purpose of the team qb and
team kickers is for one reason.

In a 18 to 20 team league, someone will
get the shaft with a qb like jeff blake.

Therefore 2 of everyone only in a league
that big, makes the playing field even.
Beleive me no one has the same
identical teams even with 2 of everyone.

I myself like 10 to 12 teams but i have
done a very succesful 20 man league
and boy was it fun. The league was more
active with trades and what not.

Yep yahoo wouldnt be able top do this format
but i think nfl.com may be able to. Sf is the
man, im sure he's listning to all suggestions
but if were to do a league with us. We all
should play vs eachother. So if its 18 to 20
teams so be it. Just an idea and alot of you
    guys have great ideas.
