I felt the need to come up with my own best/worst 5 games for Arsenal in trying to figure out what the problem is. Here goes: Best (in random order); *I have indicated what we did right/wrong in each of the games listed 1.Arsenal-Reading 4:0 (away) VERDICT: passed really, really well (Vintage Atrsenal this!) 2.Arsenal-Man Utd 1:0 (away) VERDICT: organisation, showed desire, Wenger won the tactical battle 3.Arsenal-Bolton 3:1 (away, FA Cup) VERDICT: up for the fight, passed excellently, forced the issue 4.Arsenal-Porto 2:0 (home) VERDICT: patient, varied our play 5.Arsenal-Blackburn 2:0 (away, league) VERDICT: patient, rode our luck, hit on the break (my best, considering we were down to 10 men in pulling that off) Worst; 1.Arsenal-Fulham 1:2 (away) VERDICT: Arsene, above all, messed this up. His choice of starters cost us the game 2.Arsenal-Bolton 1:3 (away, league) VERDICT: We were unlucky, but if we hadn't let in two extra (and avoidable goals), it'd have been a draw 3.Arsenal-Chelsea 1:2 (CC final) VERDICT: the only game I added not for our football, but our discipline. See, whether the refs were right or wrong, or you got provoked, the suspensions usually stand 4.Arsenal-Sheffield 0:1 (away) VERDICT: Like so many games at home this season, we looked flat in this one; we never got going 5.Arsenal-Blackburn 0:0 (home, FA) VERDICT: another case of us lacking invention. we can blame our opponents for being negative, but hey, everyone plays to their strengths. Its like our opponents complaining that we attack their goal too often! What do you think? For me, the new season starts tomorrow!!
