With Drogba being voted African Footballer of Year 2006, the debate has begun on whether he is better than Eto. In my opinion they are both very gifted strikers with different attributes. In saying this, most people do have an opinion on who is better. My vote goes to Drogba for several reasons. But first, let?s look at the tools and attributes possessed by Eto.

Eto possesses superb pace/quickness that causes nightmares for defenders. He is extremely athletic/agile. He is an intelligent player with sophisticated movement on or off the ball. Also, he has very good technique. With this said, I don?t think his game would allow him to adapt to the Bundes Liga or the Serie A. I even doubt if he could adapt to the Premier League.

Drogba possess strength, power and size. He also is quick enough and fast enough to out run most top class defenders. His size and strength alone allows him to punish and dominate most world class defenders. He is a very intelligent player and combative player. He is an asset on both offensive and defensive set piece. Drogba distinguishes him self from other strikers with the plethora of ways he is able to score. He scores from close range tap-ins, clinical finishes from close range, over powering defenders, Headers (glancing & emphatic), phenomenal medium to long range shots and volleys, free kicks. I think he could easily score the same amount of goals in any top league in the world. I do not know of any other striker who can make that claim. There are a lot of strikers with all the above mentioned traits, but I do not know any other with all. He is bar none the quintessential striker in the game today!

No disrespect to Eto, but Drogba has every tool required to adapt to any style of play (England, Spain, Italy, France, Germany)

Based on this seasons form it is obviously Drogba but i think all this shit between Ronaldinho and Rijkard has put Eto'o off.

I would probably say Drogba is slightly better has he has more strength and power.

Eto'o has great pace and great movement but atm i would say Drogba is the better player.
