Just to state emphatically there is no replacement for quality. I mention it because I hear much talk of the players who have release clauses should West Ham go down. I mean who do they think they are?

The likes of Reo Coker are better than what they have shown and I think he could do a job for us but he is no international. The likes of Upson, Neill, Green and Davenport are not as good as him so all this talk of some of them wanting to leave to keep their England hopes alive is worrying. Worrying for England because these will never be good enough to help England achieve anything.

They should be told as much before we have to listen to their tripe about having to play in the top league to keep their ambitions alive. And even worse that that is when players start talking about needing and having to play in Europe. In Europe for crying out loud, in front of sparse crowds and against most teams who haven't got the squads or the money.

These players want to accept a pay drop commensurate with their lower status and help the fans that support and feel the pain of failure much more than they seem to do.

    RANT OVER!!!
