Although Rooney has now scored the same amount of Premiership goals (10) this season as Kanu (Portsmouth) and Doyle (Reading) and even Gareth Barry (Villa), I still feel he's lacking something in his game to realistically make him Fergies automatic selection for tomorrows massive European showdown with Lille.

I think it must be horses for courses when playing top class opposition, so where as Rooney is a useful player in the Prem, Larsson clearly must be prefered to him in the CL. It's been 30 months now since Rooney scored in the Champions League, against Fenerbahce in September 2004. Surely SAF has to recognise limitations, put aside worries over keeping certain players 'happy' and simply pick his very very best Champions League XI:
    1. Van der Sar
    2. Neville
    3. Ferdinand
    4. Vidic
    5. Evra
    6. Ronaldo
    7. Carrick
    8. Scholes
    9. Giggs
    10. Saha
    11. Larsson

West Ham fan here and correct me if Im wrong but hasnt Rooney scored as many goals as Saha, making him your highest scoring striker this season?

Hes also got a shed load more assists than Saha surely?

If he bothers you that much Im sure we can set up a swap deal for Harewood?

Rooney has been dropped this season and Larsson is now going so why would he want to drop him?

I say drop Saha So Man Utd's best striker, Rooney play and also give Larsson his final game.

Even if he does drop Rooney he will put him on the bench so if things are not going right then he can shove him on to try and turn the game around.
