Firstly, I will confess that whenever any other so called English club plays in Europe I want them to lose. I always have and always will. Call me bitter if you want. But the bigger issue is to do with the quadropoly as I call it of Arsenal,United, Liverpool and Chelsea. In my opinion these 4 clubs are destroying the premiership and bit by bit are going to be detrimental for European football. By tomorrow it is likely there will be 3 if not 4 English teams in the quarter-finals of Europe's premier club competition! That is ridiculous especially when you consider the top teams in Spain, Italy and France are already out or not even in it. And that isn't because Messrs Wenger, Mourinho, Ferguson and Benitez are the best managers but because the influx of money to the premiership has literally meant that all the best talent comes this way, or should I say to the top 4. If it continues like this then the premiership will be a non-starter for many because what is the point in seeing your team battling for 5th every season? Seriously, how many players are out there who are really worth buying and more to the point where will they end up? Ronaldinho(poor again tonight) Kaka, Messi, Eto'o and Villa are all top players but they will never come to anyone other than the so called big four, who are also the only ones who could arguably afford them. And all that does is widen an ever increasing gap between the 4 that have and the many that don't. And to finish off the worst of it is that we have 2 players who would still walk into the 16 man squads of all the top 4 and that is Berbatov, who is better than many of the strikers of the top 4 and Lennon who for me is showing all the signs of being able to challenge Messi as the second best winger out there. And what chance do we have of holding onto them the way things are going. Football needs a regulator to stop it turning into a 4 team procession.
I hear many Tottenham fans thinking they are a big club. Tottenham as Rafa Benitez might say is a small club in London. Arsenal are the big club in London and Tottenham fans are just jealous because they never get in the champions league. Tottenham think they are a big club but they are not good enough for the champions league We can win it this season. Just you watch.
If you look at money spent recently tottenham are way ahead of arsenal and man united, possible liverpool?
yes, we need to get back to the days when a team like Forest could build a great side and come up and challenge the so called big teams and beat them, Until we do football gets too boring and predictable with the rich teams just pulling all the top players in. A side that struggles quickly finds that any of their bette rplayer sjust look to their own bank accounts and start thinking about their next club rather than the pain the fans are feeling as their team slumps. next season when the fans watch a new manager trying to get a side together with no money the so called stars will be off elsewhere choosing their new car - and a season later probably move don again
