I was reading the other day that Samuel Eto'o was off to Woolwich in the summer for ?20M. It started me thinking about how Spurs strengthen the team over the coming seasons. Before I get 50 posts about us buying a LB & LM etc etc I agree we need to fill these positions first but stay with me. What do you think about selling both Defoe & Mido & then buying(If they will come) a truly world class player. We would then use Berbs,Keane and ??? then bring in a youngster as 4th choice striker(reserve player anyone) Before we get into an argument about what we would get and what we would need to spend it is the concept I am interested in not the maths. My feeling is we will then not only have great forwards but also bringing through some talent in this area. This is something I believe we should do all over the pitch. We all complain about having so many similar midfield players for example.Over the years we have spent loads of cash often on mediocre players this way we spend the cash on proven quality and feed in some promising youngsters eg lennon who hopefully turn into superstars.

Thoughts please fellow Spurs--Or anyone sensible

Eto'o will want to join a champions league team. Unfortunately for you Tottenham will never play in the champions league. There is more chance of him joining Liverpool. [IMG]

Eto'o will never join a club like Tottenham, no offence.

Nah I dont see it happening he is rumoured to move to United, Liverpool or Chelsea which would be more sensible than moving to Spurs.

Why wouldn't he stay where he is? Barcelona are up there as one of the biggest clubs in the world, what could he not acheive there?
