Once again we've just seen a penalty given where a ball has been blasted at a defender 5 yards away who has had no time to react apart from to throw his body in the path of the ball. The ball has hit Taylor(newcastle)on the upper arm/chest when he has his arm by his side. This is not a penalty because he hasn't made a deliberate attempt to handle the ball.Commentators and pundits don't help when they say the ball has hit the player and then suggest a penalty may be given. It shouldn't be given unless there is a definite attempt to handle it. Thoughts please.
I hate it when those penalties are given. The defender doesnt have time to react and the offender is not making a chance ans it was just inside the area. I think these handball penalties should be less strict.
these arent always given, yesterday Paulo Maldini put his hand in the air and blocked the ball from going towards the goal. the ref didnt give the Penalty
