The club is delighted with the backing fans gave the team in Milan before, during and after the match and congratulate supporters on their performance throughout their visit to Italy. Despite late changes to the access arrangements at the San Siro stadium, everything went smoothly on the night and both the British Consulate and the Milan police have been in touch with the club to congratulate the Celtic fans on their behaviour, and for the way in which they cheered on the team even after the game had ended in defeat. Superintendent Alex McAllister of Strathclyde Police, who travelled to Milan to liaise with Italian police in the city, said: ?The behaviour of the Celtic support in Milan was first-class. ?The Milan police and the British Consular staff both commented on it. They were very impressed by the sporting manner in which the Celtic fans not only supported the team, but also accepted the disappointment of defeat. ?It was a tremendous performance by the Celtic supporters and they left an excellent impression with everyone in Milan.? Celtic Football Club would also like to reiterate its message of sympathy to the family and friends of supporter Raymond Donnelly, who tragically died in Milan on Tuesday night. The thoughts and prayers of everyone at the club are with Mr Donnelly?s family and friends at this sad time.</div> Source - Celtic FC - News Its a shame about the fan dying but the roads in Europe are chaos and my thoughts are with his family... Who said Celtic fans cause trouble we are the greatest fans in the world unless provoke then things turn nasty
How can you call Celtic fans the breatest in the world? I was in a bar in Liverpool city centre before we played you in the Uefa cup the other year. It was the anniversary of the deaths of the 2 young boys from the IRA bomb in warrington only 10miles from liiverpool. Go on I bet you can't guess what the glorious Celtic "fans" were singing. I went over and told them to show some respect only to be told to Go Away(or words to that effect). And dont say it was a minority it was virtually every Celtic fan in there
