Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho was spotted taking his children for a burger in the McDonald's in Clacton. (The Sun)

(Does Anybody Care) NO! So why do the press persist on printing this crap. This is what ruins football and other sports can't the press leave peoples personal lives alone because i am sure all of their lives aren't perfect. This is why we are disappointed at the world cup the press hype up them team then criticise them when they don't make it. Weeks before the world cup they are talking about Rooney's gambling. That makes England's chances of success better how? Blame the press not Ronaldo.

I don't think this is such a big deal as following famous people around or photographing them with a telephoto lens when they are on holiday. I think you could have picked a better story to raise this subject, such as a real privacy issue, because it's a biggie.

You say that nobody cares about this stuff, but the fact is, they do. I have lost count of the times I have witnessed people criticise a story they read in the paper for not being newsworthy, and then go on to have a discussion about that story for the next twenty minutes. Why do you think there are so many celebrity gossip magazines on the shelves?

The gutter press work to a few simple rules: any item of information about anybody famous is worth printing; most people will generally believe anything in printed form rather than question its validity (hence the lies and exaggeration); and that most people's opinions are easily formed and influenced, despite them believing the exact opposite. It is keeping to these rules, and working to the lowest common denominator (i.e. concentrating on trivialities and using huge typefaces), that continues to make the Sun the biggest selling newspaper in the UK.

They 'persist on printing this crap' because they know that people will read and comment on it. Does anybody care? I think you do. Clearly it motivated you enough to start a discussion about it - somewhat playing into their hands, don't you think?
