I've always thought Messi was a better player than Rooney but now I'm sure. Rooney would never have scored a hattrick against a R.Madrid or any team of that calibre, especially at the age of 19. If Rooney was worth 29m then Messi should be 50m at least. Don't get me wrong,i think Rooneys good, but he hasn't convinced me against the top sides of Europe unlike Messi. The kid made fools out of Chelsea players just last year in the champions league game and then he was only 18.
Messi was excellent last night but Madrid's defence was pretty awful and 1st and 2nd were well taken and the 3rd was a great run. Rooneys first hatrick was better IMO but i think Messi is the better player than Rooney.
I'd rather have Messi than Rooney at Chelsea anyday. Although Rooney is a quality player, Messi is just better. Also, I'm glad to see a Man Utd fan admitting there is a teenager better than Rooney. Every Man Utd fan i've come across seems to think Rooney is the best teenager around.
Rooney has left me extreme frustrated this season with his wide runs and tracking back. YOUR A FORWARD YOU STUPID IDIOT!!! Now that thats off my chest, yes Messi is far better.

Everyone seems to be getting on Rooney's back. He's magic, pure magic despite his mal-form this season.
