Well, they've finally gone too far. The usual rags including the BBC, have printed enough misleading information about Mourinho's intentions that now he is no longer doing interviews with the papers. He will only be doing the usual postmatch interviews as per his usual commitments. The last straw was when his recent comments (quoted out of context as usual) regarding a possible move to Real Madrid in the future were blown out of all proportion. It was the usual game with the press: Reporter: "Jose, would you ever consider a move to a big club like Real Madrid in the future?" Jose: "Erm...it would obviously be an honour to manage a club like Real Madrid, but I am contracted with Chelsea until 2010, and I am fully committed to the club right now" Next day's headlines: "MOURINHO EYES REAL MADRID ROLE IN 2010" It's simply pathetic, lazy journalism that seems to be all that's left now in the sports media. Why can't anyone do a thoughtful, intelligent interview that may actually teach the public something about the man or his approach to management or anything other than headline-grabbing rubbish? I don't blame Jose at all for his decision to freeze out the print media, although I'm sure there will be the usual moaners (probably from said media) that will make a fuss about it. Even this source couldn't resist getting the usual dig in at the end: Mourinho threatens press with silent treatment | News | Guardian Unlimited Football
Being a Liverpool fan we get this every other day regarding Rafa and Gerrard .Like you say its lazy journalism. But deep down I think you should actually worry about Mourinho going because he's at short odds with the bookies to go there and it isn't very often they get it wrong.
Fair enough. I hate the arrogant prick but i would get pissed off with all these bullshit rumors going around.
