It is mentioned that Lampard and Terry may be interested in playing abroad.
I am sure that they can hold their own when it comes to football but I wonder if they have the personalities to be able to really succeed.

In the past there have been very few English players that have succeeded abroad. Basically it comes down to social skills, learning the language and trying to integrate in normal daily life.If you can't do that then performances on the pitch suffer.

Lampard and Terry are not talented in their use of the English language so I wonder if they could master Italian or Spanish. When abroad you have to try to adopt the local culture otherwise you will never be fully accepted.

I can't see any major reasons to why Lampard or Terry would want to leave the Premiership, as there is no better league. English players do not often succeed abroad, apart from Hargreaves, and I'm not sure Lampard or Terry would be any different.

No you're right you don't know. Jonathan Woodgate wouldn't have been a candidate for socialite of the month after his Leeds career ended, but he managed to pick up the language and is on loan back in the Premiership. Beckham is well liked as a player, but hasn't been able to string two words of Spanish together! Don't forget, Lampard's missus is Catalonian .

Paul Ince - Great at Inter Milan
David Platt - Very successful in Italy with Juva, Bari, Sampadoria

    Hargreaves - Bayern Munich
Gazza - good couple of seasons at Lazio
    Paul Lambert - dortman
    Paul Elliot - Foggia
    Ray Wilkens - AC Milan

    Steve Mcmanaman - Real Madrid
    Lineaker - Barcelona, Grampus 8
    Beckham - ReAL Madrid
Owen - scored 17 goals in one season

thats just a few that have made it well abroad. So your argument is pointless really.
