It's been a long time coming, but West Ham have finally won again. They came from behind to beat Blackburn 2-1 at Ewood Park thanks to controversial goals from Tevez and Zamora. In my opinion, neither goal should have stood, as it should never have been a penalty awarded for Tevez and Zamora's shot was never over the line. Despite the fact that the linesman should have spotted that the ball was on, and not over, the line, he cannot be hugely blamed. Assistant referees make so many wrong decisions regarding off-side these days that it has become an absolute disgrace. Technology has to be introduced, football cannot continue to lag behind everything else. The world has moved on, so should football. I do believe, however, that the referee made two appalling decisions in favour of West Ham. Firstly, Tevez should never have been given a penalty after he went down following a challenge from Brett Emerton, in my opinion hardly any contact was made and it was a dive. And secondly, it was a complete joke that David Bentley was sent off in the last minute. Howard Webb gave him a second yellow for deliberate handball, but in no shape or form was it deliberate. So in reality it was diabolical decisions that handed West Ham only their second win under Alan Curbishley, in fact they should have lost 1-0.
You can't blame Tevez as he slipped and then got swiped out but Zamoras goal was on the line by a mile!!!
<div class="quote_poster">carl9254 Wrote</div><div class="quote_post">Dont get me started, ive calmed down now luckily, i so hope they go down now, cheating gits.</div> You can't call west ham Cheaters. 1)Tevez slipped, lost balance and then got enough contact from the defender to put him on his ass. 2)Zamora's goal was down to the Linesman. West Ham didn't appeal or anything.
lol and tevez was offside by a good distance, if anything thats even more of a giveaway that it shouldn't of been a goal
It was a penalty and it nearly was a goal. Blackburn were lucky enough that tevez nearly blocked it off the line. Ah well. Well done West Ham.
it werent a penalty because if thingy hadnt of slid tevez still would have gone down because you can see before contact is made he starts to go down and his foot slips back, if you can get hold of a clip and look closly youll see
<div class="quote_poster">Dimm Wrote</div><div class="quote_post">I'm not too bothered in this case either way as West Ham won</div> That goes without saying, but you try being on the other end of that excrement filled stick. It's unpleasant to say the least. It's not like you even played well enough to win outright, without the refs help.
