Last night it was claimed that the signing of the season was Berbatov.

    Any thoughts?

Denilson. He will be a great player and only cost £3m.

Anelka... Anelka is a player who goes to clubs and is unhappy alot of the time but at Bolton he seems to have came out of the unhappiness shell and plays phenominal. Also Berbatov is a canditate too.

Ronaldo has been a pretty good signing for AC Milan so far.

[IMG] that was a little harsh!
I can agree with Berbatov being the best signing of the season. But if he would have stayed with United i think Henrik Larsson would have been a candidate as well!

    mmm. agreed Okocha.

Larsson, was wonderful, scored on debut. helped them score that vital goal against Lille. If it wasn't for Larsson, they wouldntve gone past Lille.

Only someone experienced as Larsson can weave such magic. He can, and he has.

Helsingborg. You lucky Swedes...treat Larsson well!

Berba has been the best signing, fantastic for Spurs this season but someone else will sign him now.

    Benni McCarthy.

15 league goals for £2.5m in his first season is an incredible return.

Berbatov is massively over-rated. The only club he's scored a league goal against that is in the top half of the table is Everton. Every other team has been in the bottom half of the table, 4 of those in the relegation fight. He's only scored against 7 clubs in total in the league.

Yeah Carrick's been really good for United and was really cheap.
    What about Mascherano for Liverpool
    Or Tevez for West Ham

Carrick's been a great signing and really given us a new outlet from midfield but he's far from signing of the season. A couple more years will tell whether he's worth the money or not.

I chose Bervatov, cause he was a well known player in Leverkusen and actually had success in england in his first season, which is something Sheva and Ballack havent been able to do.

Carrick is definitely one of the signings of the season. He's silently played well and not too many people have mentioned him as one of the better players for Man Utd, it's been all about Cristiano.

Tevez has to be up there too, after he got going he'd been their best player the whole way through, he definitely had the biggest hand in keeping them up.

Thats very true about Tevez, but at the same time, very sad story. It looked like west ham was going to compete for the top 4 spots this season, and then the team just dismantled starting with Mancherano going to liverpool and then the controversy over their contracts, it really sucked, but I must say that Tevez worked hard and proved his might and saved West ham from relegation.
