<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">CELTIC striker Jan Vennegoor of Hesselink was joined by a life-size version of his virtual alter-ego, Desktop Jan, at the launch of the UK’s first ever football-dedicated search engine.

The site, CelticFCSearch.co.uk | Home Page | Search the web with Celtic, lets fans search the internet as normal, but also allows them to receive frequent news and fixture updates from their club. It is branded in club colours and links directly to Celtic’s official website.

Frequent use of the search engine also generates revenue for the club without costing fans a penny.

Fans can also download Desktop Jan from the search site onto their PCs or laptops. This mini version of the striker will keep them abreast of all breaking club news as well as keeping them up-to-date with club offers and providing a direct link to the new search site.

Developed by Glasgow-based search engine specialists, FC Search, the site is powered by Yahoo so provides all normal search engine functions.

Jan Vennegoor of Hesselink said: "This is a great new way to search on the internet and support the club at the same time. I hope you enjoy the animated version of me, Desktop Jan. He made me laugh and I hope you like him too."
