    Anyone care to explain why on earth he got and MBE?

    If your looking for commitment to the sport and the interaction with youths etc The surely Beckham is your man?

    Champions league effort surely Sheringham did just as much as Gerrard for Liverpool in Utd vs Bayern Munich?

    He's scouse, he stole it of course [​IMG] Nah, seriously, I agree with your points regarding the other mentioned footballers, but Gerrard deserves it as much as anyone. He's a Liverpudlian legend by all accounts, and is an inspiration to thousands of kids from the same back ground as where he came from. Not to mention his endeavours to help Liverpool take the CL in 2005.

    This is a pathetic bitch at Gerrard thread. He got it because he has inspired many children to play football ect. He led Liverpool to win the Champions League and is a icon. He deserves it, end of.

    Beckham has training camps which helps youngsters become better players. Peter Schmeichel led United in the final to win The Champions League. If anyone deserved it, it should of been Beckham.
