What is it at the moment. Liverpool are getting so much stick. People still seem to harp on about the Champions league and how we supposedly fluked it, and how it was only Gerrard that won it for us. Are people jealous of us? now i'm not going to bring up the past about how successful we were in the 70s and 80s. Look a the 6 years. 2 FA Cups, 2 League cups, 2 Charity Shields, 1 Champions League, 1 Uefa Cup and 2 super cups. Thats a heck of a lot of trophies. How many other clubs can boast 10 trophies so far this decade? Not even Chelsea or Man UTD. Then all we get are people saying our managers have been no good to us and we are moving backwards, despite only losing at home twice since Oct 2005 and dumping the current European holders out of Europe. And others say that our current manager is not good enough. Come on thats a load of rubbish. We are and will continue to be the most successful club in England. We are just short of the premiership. Thats all we haven't won, even though its no different to the old league apart from the name. Benitez may not be everybody's choice of manager but ask 99% of Liverpool fans and they will agree he is the right man for the job. Without him we wouldn't have won the FA cup and Champions league. And now that we have a bigger budget we will buy some decent strikers and be challenging for the title, maybe not this season but next. I did hear one idiot saying that we are moving backwards because we were 1 point behind UTD this time last year and now they are over 10 points clear but thats just because they have been great away from home. We have the best home record in the premiership and once we sort our away form out we will be a force to be reckoned with.
When will Liverpool be taken seriously? Beginning of the season untill November. Then it will be over as usual.
I think Liverpool will be taken seriously again when the are playing well week in and week out like they did away to Barca and seriously challenging for the title. I think we have a great chance in the Champions league this year, but then again we always seem to come up big on the big occasions. I also think our new American owners need to drop some coin on a good left winger, and Rafa needs to pick between Alonso or Sissoko. I can't stand having Gerrard out right. Also, Rafa needs to decide whether or not Pennant is good enough for the sqaud. He seems biased against him, though Pennant seems to play well for us. Maybe it's the way he trains, I don't know. If it's the case that Pennant is a bad trainer, then get a new right wing as well.
Is that all Liverpool can aim for.. The Champions League? Not suprising anyway, Foreign Team Foreign Trophy.
Flight go back to school and do some geography because when I last looked the FA cup that Rafa won( the greatest of all time they say as well) was only competed for by English clubs. Oops i'm wrong, sorry all you small time welsh clubs I should of said english LEAGUE clubs.

Way to prove Liverpool are a cup team. Liverpool will be taken seriously when they mount a challenge for the title. Until then, they will stay a cup team who cannot sustain form week-in-week-out over the course of a season. And don't even try bringing up past successes. You haven't won the league for 17 years. What kind of history is that? It's not like you can bring back Rush, Dalglish, Hansen, Lawrenson and Grobelaar and they'll win you the league again. It's in the past, it's been and gone. It holds you in absolutely zero stead today so you need to stop harping on about it.
Manc fans are just jealous of all the success we have, leave them to their biased pathetic selves. They are still doing it now, cause they are jealous of the transfer budget we have. All like "Eto'o will NEVER come to liverpool, but he might come to united" Well actually its rumours that we may swap him for Alonso and he said that he would love to play for Liverpool, but he didn't say United. And United think they are getting Torres, keep dreaming!
Your successes in the past are IN THE PAST. Manu are undeniably more successful in recent times. I think Liverpool will be taken very seriously if they could just splash the cash on players, get a 60,000 seat stadium and just challenge for the League title instead of Cups. You guys were taken seriously by being contenders for the Premiership in 2006/07 but u guys dissapoint and u onli concentrated on the UCL. If you guys win the Premiership then Liverpool will be fully appreciated again
