Former Jets defensive coordinator Ted Cottrell told The NFL Today and SportsLine.com he is slated to fly to San Diego to meet with the Chargers on Monday and Pittsburgh on Thursday regarding their vacant defensive coordinator jobs. Cottrell already has been offered the Vikings' coordinator's job, but he did not want to jump at the first job available ... I wonder why?

Which defense would you rather work with? Minnesota or Pittsburgh?

Where would you rather live? San Deigo, St.Paul or Pittsburgh? All three coach's may be fired next year, so which owner would be most likely to hire Ted as the next Head coach?

Ah, good point. He won't come here. I doubt the Rooney's would hire Cottrell as their head coach after one year.

Its reported that he likes Minnesota the best, but is using San Diego and Pittsburgh as leverage in the bargaining process. He liked the system here, but wasn't crazy about the offer.

Well, it's official! He is coming to MN. Is this good? I don't know much about him...

I don't know if its good...he had one really good year in NY, but the past two years his defenses have been in the low 20's as far as rank.

I guess he was one of the best available. Just cross your fingers that we get a shutdown corner. McAllister is a FA this year.
