In the light of the debate surrounding England (and the Euphoria surrounding Scotland!) I was wondering if anybody had any ideas how you actually go about building a great team? How do you get players to bond and gel and play for each other as a team? It's obvious this is England's big problem - they're not playing as a cohesive unit and team - and that this is also Scotland's strength, although Scotland players do seem to cross the line between playing for the jersey and becoming a fully fledged Tartan Nationalist Maniac! Anyway, what does it take? A good coach? Time? The political wind to change direction? A night on the razzle every few weeks? [IMG]

That doesn't guarantee success. Obviously Ferguson makes a difference with Man U or he wouldn't be the manager. It's not about the money. Look at Barca or Chelsea. Look at Terry in the Carling Cup Final. It's not about the money all the time.

You need to have the appropriate staff, the Manager needs to be tactically minded and know when something is wrong during the match so he can instantly react on the situation and avoid any mistakes. Also, training sessions should be more regular for International teams so the manager can assess his squad and find out which players bond better on the pitch in terms of playing ability and not reputation.

England really need to sort themselves out if they want to mount a challenge to other European teams, at the moment, they're a laughing stock.

Well Scotland started to pick up when Walter Smith became the Scotland manager and Eck is a decent manager and it look like we are still doing good but I think if we stand any chance in Italy we need Walter Smith as manager he is a tactical genious..

I think a better national anthem might help. Ours couldn't arouse a caffeine addicted speed freak out of their slumber!
