I myself like the idea of capital punishment. Although I believe not all crimes should have it enforce I believe that Murder, rape, child molestation, assault, terrorism and charges along these lines should definitely have a major consequence put forth to it. Now if you were to do drugs or steal I do not think that this should have a capital punishment effect. I would give that kind of person 5 tries before I would consider them a disaster to society. I believe everyone should be given a second chance, but murder and the others I listed is pushing it into the no return line for me. I think we should give those type of people a 10 year trial sentence to prove their innocence, because there are some screw ups in the Law that mistake people for being guilty when they are not. I believe 10 years is plenty of time to get the facts straight and determine whether the culprit is innocent or not. After those 10 years I think they should get the death penalty instead of a life sentence. Being from the USA I do not want my taxes helping these kinds of people when their lives are practically over already. I would much rather have that part of my taxes helping to save lives rather than keeping a major convicted felon inside prison.

Yes but only if the Judge/Jury is 100% sure and the Evidence backs it up. Otherwise it's not fair killing an innocent man[IMG]

No they cant always 100% prove someone did it and they could be sitting with the wrong guy and execute him. A guy from my area got accused of raping a young school girl 27 years ago and got put to jail for 21 years and he came out and he still says he went to jail for a crime he didnt commit.

True but some people it is 100% true. Bin Laden. Ian Huntley and the Yorkshire ripper are some examples of this.

I can't say I support capital punishment because of the doubt of there being 100% positve sure they have the right person.
I do think life in prison means life not 25 years and out earlier for good behaviour
