What do you think the Pack's priorities should be in the off season? Shore up the secondary? Get a dominant pass rusher? Find the QB of the future? What would you like to see the Pack do in free agency and through the draft?

Secondary, both starting SS and CB depth, DL depth, but no major moves. Another KR for competition with Chatman. Keep a low profile in FA and build in the draft. Only sign mid level FAs. If Clifton is asking for >$7-8 mil for a signing bonus, let him go. I'm sure I'll think of others.

Basically, biggest needs are starting SS, and secondary and DL depth

I think you'll see either a LB like Dansby or a S like Everage or Schweigert goes to the Packers in round one. I could see Losman or Rivers maybe drafted by them, although i wouldn't be shocked to see them draft a QB like Navarre, Pickett or Smoker in the 3-5 rounds. Round two i expect a CB, DE or the LB/S not taken in round one. With S Sean Jones, CB Nathan Vasher/Keiwan Ratliff or DE Dave Ball/ Jason Babin.

FA wise i wouldn't be surprised to see Bidwell left go and another P with Dortsch start camp together. I think you'll see Freeman let go and the Pack draft two WR later in the draft. OL Clifton they'll push very hard to sign. If not they'll sign a replacement. They'll likely bring back S Antwan Edwards and sign another CB/S type. I do hope they sign a solid second receiving TE to pair with Franks (draft Hartsock or the Minnesota TE in the 4th round, please) since Martin is always banged up. I expect alot of smaller signings but not really anything major.

    thanks-Don

I see DE as a more pressing need than LB this year for the Packers...Navies did well in his role player situation. But I agree that the secondary needs a little depth also. As signing a replacement for Clifton, I don' know that they've got enough available to get a starting OT, and they may move Barry or Tausch over there, or Curtin as well.

A possible scenario would be to let Rivera go (3.25 in cap savings this year, and he's a 32 year old FA with bad knees after 2004) and get enough money from that to sign Clifton...he's younger and more important in protecting the QB's blindside.

To me its more a value pick at LB or S in round one. Where the Pack picks i don't think a stud DE will be left and your choosing one of a group of very similar guys that you could get any time in the next three rounds. Where as typically you have your choice of even the best LB or S in the late round 1. Like how Napolean Harris and Nick Barnett have been drafted recently. I would like the Pack to get a stud CB or DE but i think you can get similar value in rounds 2-4 if your not picking very early at those two positions.

Only thing packers need to do is cut there corners
dreads [IMG]. I think they should add a great pass rusher.
Packers arent that far off from what i have seen.
