Alvaro Arbeloa & Javier Mascherano I really like this full back we've got. I had never heard of him when Rafa bought him but he seems to be one of Rafa's shrewd buys. He's young only 24, quick, good in possesion and has some good defending skills so i won't be supprised if he seals a spot down in the Liverpool line ups. Carragher has even admited he is a brilliant player. What i like most about Arbeloa is his link play, he linked well with Crouchy today and i've seen him link brilliantly with Pennant other days. With Finnan now 31 and Riise our worse fullback at the club i think its time one of them made space for this Young Spaniard. Won't be long until he gets into the National team of Spain. With Mascherano he has played loads of games for us now.. i think todays game was proberly his worse he's had at LFC but he proved against Arsenal that he's one of the best players in the world in his posistion. We are lucky to have such a young talent who is only 22 years old and already got 22 International caps by his name. We must try and secure a long term deal down for him because he could have a big part in us winning games... we don't lose with him in the team and notice how he creat most of our goals when he plays... he's amazing for such a young age in the most advanced position on the field!
Re: Alvaro Arbeloa & Javier Mascherano Agreed. Both excellent players. Arbeloa also played more as a Centre-Back for Depor. What a great option, and he can play all along the back 4, just like Carra. Mascherano has also proved his worth already (to my mind). I have no doubt we will get him permanently, he seems to be enjoying his footy too. Although I think today showed that Masch + Sissoko only works in a 5 man midfield or with two on form atacking wingers.
Re: Alvaro Arbeloa & Javier Mascherano i agree... arbeloa looks like he is going to be a great player for liverpool and marcherano also looks to be a player for the future. now we have a great roster and i dont think we need to buy a superstar during the summer transfer window.
