Shevchenko without a doubt, a player who's transfer fee is that much should be getting 25+ a season ... he is just shit.

    Yeah, it's clearly Shevchenko.

My guess is that he'll either be loaned out or sold on for transfer funds since Abramovich isn't going to pump any more money into the Chelsea transfer fund.

Shevchenko hasn't played bad and have you not seen his work rate? Just because his not scoring as much as his reputation lives upto does not make him a bad signing! Maybe he was never worth the price tag put on him but he hasn't played badly.

When you buy arguably the best pure goalscorer on the planet, you don't expect him to run around a lot, you expect him to score goals, no matter the price tag.

Shevchenko hasn't done that. Chelsea are just lucky Drogba has been banging them in otherwise they would be in some serious trouble.

Ok this topic might aswell just have been called a anti-sheva topic so i belive the worst this season is Javier Mascherano, excellent in the world cup, but shit for west ham and i ain't seen a match he's played for the kop so he is shit to me.

I think Mascherano's problem was that he never wanted to be at West Ham and never gave it any effort, hence why he was rarely played. Look at Tevez for an example: didn't score for months but was always 100% committed from the first minute. Mascherano has gone to Liverpool and seems to be perking up because he's at a top club and has the chance of trophies in the near future. He's not the one for a dog-fight. Tevez is.

Other than Shevchenko, the Argies were terrible signings and really disrupted West Ham.

Worst transfer of the season award goes to... *drumroll*

    Matthew Upson

Why? Because he really is shit, and cost a sizzling £7m. How many minutes has he played for West Ham? 41. Yes, expensive. Oh, and he has a get out clause if West Ham are relegated. So shittest buy of the season, him, oh and Lucas Niell isn't far behind him.

    lmao Neill said

"I'm here because West Ham actually want me, i will be playing First Team football, at Liverpool, i would be a squad rotation, and they had a "take it or leave it" offer on the table..."

Pssst, he earns shitloads at West Ham [IMG]

Going back to Andriy Shevchenko, I remember when Mourinho stated that they had to pay 10mil pounds for each for his three goals! [IMG]

But DD that is just bad luck of him to be injured.

I think it is Shevchenko who was priced at ?31mil, it was a really bad buy for Chelsea and he scores very few.

But still the point of the thread is to put forward the worst buys of the season. In terms of any return on the investment from the club, he really is the worst. I hear a lot of talk about Schevchenko, he had a bad start, but he's still scored a few, and it's not like he doesn't try is it?

hmm it's got to go to Benni Mccarthy.

[IMG] he has been amazing this season. Surely up there with one of the best buys[IMG]
