It was the last game of the season for my school team, we were Equal 1st on the ladder, no losses. We were against the team that was favourite to win, we just happened to play them in the last round. At the beginning, we started off, and before the ball came to me (in Defensive Midfield) it was gone. Down the field they ran, full pelt, with our Strikers who were waiting for the lob doubling back as fast as they can. I ran out to Number 7, who was their Beckham. These fancy gold tiempo boots, fucktard. I was neck and neck with him and he gives me a bump. I lose balance and hit the ground and ref just waves on. He gets down to the corner flag, dummies, and lifts, yes lifts, the ball barely left his foot, lifts it over our defender and picks it up again. he then does a low sharp cross and this Striker breaks through these two players (if we stopped him it would be a shephard) and slams the ball into the net. 1-0. Half time score: 3-1. Second half: They started, I got moved into right-flank. Thank god. I drifted up and down the lines and when we regained the ball in the left corner, we had a GREAT, GREAT cross-pitch kick. The ball came to me, I sprinted up field, the guy next to me, was a big beefy oaf, at least 65 kg. He chased after me, gained on me in seconds, i tried doing that move that Edgar Davids does in the Nike Ninja Ad. Didn't work out. Ball went nowhere, I went flying. Free kick. I was probably 30 yards out, standing there, shivering my balls off. I had two teammates around me, we devised a plan. I didn't take the kick, my teammate did, i was standing right next to the wall, turning towards the corner post. The ball was passed to me and i tapped it out into space. The free-kick taker came running over and just belted it cross goal. Our striker leaps up and nearly gets whiplashed trying to head the ball in. 3-2. Play resumed, they dominated, they hit the bar and when it bounced off, we had a gigantic clearance. Bounced right towards me, but I had a guy hurriedly running straight at me. I flicked it up and using my left foot, attempted to volley it. It totally tricked them, it was going left, but somehow my volley went right. Right into our striker. He ran towards box, pulled up short, and chip-shotted over the keeper, but it was rolling towards the line. A defender comes in and slides, but he hits it out the right again, hits the post and bounces in. Lucky. 3-3, 15 mins left. This was the important bit. They started but we regained position when he tried to do something tricky. I was subbed off and 10 minutes to go. Pretty pissed off. Specially if we lost. 5 minutes to go, at a throw in, i got put on. I ran in quite deep, the ball was thrown to me and i just sprinted with all my worth. "Any shot was good enough" (said by Coach at half time). I just shot, with my closest foot, the left. Goalkeeper was on other side of the goal and ran over. He jumped down too early, and had no time to get back up. Rolled over the line. I only saw the ball go over the line, the next minute was retardedly a blurr. I got my teammates on me yelling :" YEAHHHHHHH" i couldn't see jack-shite, all i see is my teammates just on top of me. One teammate had an asthma attack, that seemed the only reason they got off me. It was a great day. Can't wait for Football Season '07, 3 more weeks to go. Cheers, Hellfire Feel free to share your own stories.
Lol nice hellfire. I remember a long time ago in division 1 during the semis in extra time, it was 1-1 and within about 1 min into it, someone from the back lobbed the ball foward in hope, and my partner up front controlled it nicely but was surrounded by the entire defence. I yelled out cause i was unmarked. he backheeled it and it layed nicely for me and i just passed it in. That was an exciting moment
I actually like playing in the rain... I don't know, it gets me more driven! Anyway, great moments? Well, being a defender, there are those one-on-one situations that you win (with the help of a little dirty play, of course! )... Or there was the one time I stopped a 2 on 1 attack, I was the 'one', since the keeper went out a little too early... and prevented them from scoring! I actually thought they would've scored on me!!
Once I flicked it over my mates head and head it over my other mate who was the keeper and my other mate was on the line and I turned my back to him and passed it through his legs and hit the post and in it went Also ... Scored a freekick from a long way out my mate was in and he though I was going to cross it so I done a cheeky little chip from about 35 yards and it just flew over his head and into between the sticks well chuffed..
LMAO i remember when we had a clearance and the ball went into midfield. THe guy attempted a scissor kick and it went in from 50 yards lmao.
One of my best moments was this season in our cup semi-final. We were away and their referee and linesmen seemed fixed on making us lose. It was the 88th minute and I won a free kick right near the corner down the right hand side (because i'm the right winger) and i went up to my teammate taking the free kick and told him to play it low to the near post. So i took my position on the edge of the box. As he ran to take it i ran past the players in the box and lost my marker, went straight to near post where there was only the man on the post and flicked it into the top corner like Zola against Norwich. The best goal i've ever scored, this made it 2-1 and we went on to win the cup.
Half volleying it from just into their half. Last couple of minutes and it was 1-1 and we needed a win to get promoted. It was hectic and i was filling in at centre back. We had a corner but they cleared it and i rushed back and managed to get behind the ball. Our keeper was still up there so i just whacked it and it bounced over the keeper. didn't mean to score but they don't know that
Nice guys. Yeah DD, bad goalkeeping positioning, plus the fact that he was slightly overweight and "playing" with the left pole. So funny. Yeah, this week was soo retarded. We had a corner kick, and i played it short, he backpassed it through his legs, and through his marker, and it came out the other side for me. I hit it sweetly, but goalkeeper tipped it past his head. It went over to the left post where my teammate smashed it right into the Goalkeepers jaw. *icepack...* The goalkeeper had to come off for 20 minutes. 1. Icepack. 2. Couldn't play for rest of the game because no mouthguard. Their goalkeeper came late and ref didn't check. Ouchies.
