Concerning Rafa's statement, Madrid responded thus: 'In regards to the statements attributed to current Liverpool coach Rafael Benitez, which were published by a media source, Real Madrid wish to deny any negotiations with said professional, or any other, concerning his possible incorporation to the club next season.

'Real Madrid, as reiterated by the president [Ramon Calderon] and the board of directors, are counting on prestigious coach Fabio Capello, who still has two years remaining on his three-year contract.'

The above was from Real Madrid's management reasuring the world, and Coach Capello, that he is still wanted and that he is expected to see out his contract, less than 24hours after Rafa claimed he was approached to take over at Madrid. That is the way to give a manager morale boost badly needed at such trying times. He can at least for now concentrate on job at hand.

Why is Chelsea different? Why can't Chelsea ( or Roman ) speak out now as to the fate that awaits JM at the end of the season? Why can't they say 'Yes' you are going or 'No' you will see out your contract? Why is he being made to work under pressure? It is very unfair to do that to him. Or is he been made to go to through this so as to make him fail and then have a good reason to sack him? Even if he fails to win any more trophies this season, JM has been exceptional. Inspite of his successes, so many managers have been linked with his job, the latest being Klinsman. How do they want JM to feel?

The club should speak out NOW and end all the speculations, rumours and uncertainties about his future. Roman should not ruin the club he spent so much to build in a short period by taking rash decisions.

Just as easy to say, Why should Chelsea be the same ?

Say Mourinho is going at the end of the season, announcing it now won`t help the team, so Chelsea fans will just have to wait and see what happens.

For me there is too much happening on the pitch to worry about anything else in the club.

Your joking aren't you? Madrid have been looking for a new coach since Jan, Cappello nearly quit in Feb and this statement is just because Real have been caught out by Rafa's comments. It's funny to see someone turning the tables on Real.

As for Chelsea I agree with Dan, it wouldn't help your team, most of the senior players support Jose, to make an announcement now would cause problems. Even as a Utd fan I want to see Jose stay in the PL and that the title race is clean and exciting.

I can say jose has really made the prem more fun, he may be arogant, but he is sure one hell of a manager.

I can't remember Chelsea fans being so high and mighty and wanting clarity when the same happened to Ranieri because everything was hunky dory when you was getting a new manager then. The way he was treated was nothing short of disgusting.

Mourinho is off to Madrid in the summer I think... Madrid wouldnt be so shit now a days if they hadn't sacked Del Bosque.
