Dont get me wrong. Giggs goals was by far more important as it was in extra-time when United were a man down and against Arsenal. If thats the criteria for making the goal superior to Messi's, than fine. However, if I were to take a fan who never knew the background of both goals and just watched them, Messi's would come out on top everytime. I will give you the Giggs argument cause of its importance, but Messi's was technically superior. Dont give me that stuff of world's best defence blah blah. Nobody really tried to tackle Giggs except the last ditch effort to block the shot.
Actually Messi got a bit lucky and was against far lower class players. Giggs was against Arsenal players, some of the top defenders in the prem at the time and didnt get any lucky bounce. And was a far more important goal.

Giggs goal was better, the finish was absolutely perfect not to mention he took on about 5 players, Messi was a class goal but i think someone should have stopped him. Arsenal defenders are better than Getafe defenders. giggs finish just wins it for me.
hmm Messis goal looked better but it was more of a challenge getting around 5 Arsenal Defenders then the Getafe side I'm gonna have to go with the Messi goal.
Giggs was better and more significant than Messi'. Getafe are a guff side, Arsenal at that time had a brilliant defence and for Giggs to even accomplish that sort of goal takes Skill. Getafe are a weak weak side.
The fact that only one tackle was even attempted on Giggs really makes that goal excellent doesn't it? The Arsenal defenders were backing away, not challenging.
You cant take the magnificent goal away from Giggs, it was better and more important than Messi'. I'm not saying Messi' wasnt good because it was.
IF you watch Giggs goal closely you will see that he virtually runs in a straight line. Its not like he's weaving in and out of players. He actually beats the 1st 2 men because he didn't actually have control of the ball properly and then to cap it all off, Seaman decides to duck out of the way. Other than that it was a great goal.
