Thierry Henry is a very bad pathetic sportsman. I dont think he can even be called a sportsman. After Arsenal had lost to Barcelona in the champions league final Thierry Henry was blasting the referee and UEFA and questioning the credibility and integrity of the referee. It was pathetic and if UEFA banned Eric Cantona for 6 matches in November 1993 when he made similar remarks about Kurt Roethlisberger then they should have acted promptly. Thierry Henry was at it again after the champions league match against CSKA Moscow.

During the 2006 world cup, Thierry Henry tried to get Carlos Puyol of Spain sent-off by clutching his face in "agony" and rolling around as if he had been shot. It was absolutely absurd and far more ridiculous than even Rivaldos play-acting against Turkey in the 2002 world cup. Rivaldo was rightly banned for one game afterwards and FIFA should have banned Henry for 1 or 2 games for his disgraceful attempt at getting a fellow professional footballer sent-off.

Thierry Henry a good ambassador for the game? No way..The guy with his sheer arrogance is the anti-christ of the game

More to the point, Henry is a player whos ship has sailed.

He was a great goalscorer but all that is now in the past.

Arsenal missed a real opportunity to sell him last summer when he was worth something.

Now he is just a washed up injury prone has been who might still have the odd flash of brilliance left in him but will never be consistent again.

Ok, so Henry isn't the best player in the world but he surely is a decent player.
As for the clutching his face in agony comment...Don't Chelsea players do that every game they play?
A lot of players AND managers have a little rant either to or about referee's, it's the way the game works nowedays.
I'm not a huge fan of Henry, but give the man some credit...He is a decent player when fit!

    Anti-chrisy of the game?

Shows what you know. Henry was at one point the best player in the world and surely the greatest foreigner ever in the EPL's proud history.

When any West Ham player matches his Strikin capabilities tell me[IMG]

First of all, Yes Henry might have some attitude problems, yes that is true, but certainly, nobody can deny that he has been the best striker in the premeirship for the last ten years, yes, better that any striker West Ham has ever had, that is for sure, as for liverpool, they really dont have an attack like arsenal has, for sure, Liverpool is better known for its Midfield Strength (Gerrard,Alonso,Sisoko). Crouch, Kuyt better than Henry??? I didnt think so...

Henry has and will still be a fantastic player. If some of the rumours are true that he's on his way to Anfield, i and thousands of others will not be dissappointed. If you want to talk about feigning injury just remember Robben against us. Also he has nothing but great things to say about the LIverpool fans. A friend of mine appeared in the Pepsi challenge which was on Ch4 a while ago and he got to meet Henry , Ronaldinho etc and he said Henry was the best of the lot, when they'd finished their time with him he went into the Arsenal Souvenir shop and bought them all a shirt and signed it for them.

His injury is a potential career-ender. Not in the instantaneous sense as most injuries but Sciatic Nerve problems are never cured. They're treated and managed but never cured. That problem will really cut his career drastically and really hurt his value.

His market value is far, far lower than his value to Arsenal and therein lies the problem should he want to leave.

Why so much bitterness to a player that made the premiership exciting to watch??? If your just jelous that he didnt play for your team....its not his fault. He's not the cleanest player in football, but he sure is tremendously skilled and fun to watch.

To say he's not a good sportsman is stupid, sure he's done one or two things but he plays for Arsenal, they're one of the most reverend clubs in the league, maybe even the world. I was going to say he's French as well but then I remembered Zidane [IMG].

He's still class and even if he's not as good as he was, Arsenal need him or else they just don't lift as much as they would with him, even with players like Fabregas in the squad.

The thread was not on his ability, but his sportsmanship.
