A bit of light hearted, good natured relief that doesn't mention our Argentinian hero. As a 17 year old hammer, this seasons great escape was our greatest achievement in my lifetime. I was 13 when we went down; how i cried. West Ham meant a lot to me. To demonstrate the life of a young hammer, this is part of my story (boring i know). At 9 i was scouted for Southend United and played their for around a year. After a good start and some good goals from midfield i lost interest and girls tookover (early bloomer). Then at 13 i made a mistake. Spurs spotted me and offered a trial. But being a West Ham fan and having that rivalry with spurs i said no. I though one day i would get picked up by the hammers. And now i don't even play football!

Stupid decision, yes. Regrettable decision, yes. But it goes to show how much we do care for the hammers. And like the famous bubbles that epitomizes us West Ham fans, my dream faded and died.

No matter what happens to our club, we will always be West Ham fans. Passionate about our club.

So there, in this thread, i have shown that 3 unfounded perceptions.

    Irish blood, but fairly sensible.
A west ham fan who with an appetite for English
And finally a footballer (be it a failed- semi-pro standard footballer) who can string a few words together.

    Forever blowing bubbles.

You should have gone for the trial at Spurs son, you could have had West Ham in your heart and Spurs money in the bank...

    How bad [IMG]

How bad [IMG]</div>If only i would have; to be hated by spurs and play for West Ham. Thats dreamland!

I'm afraid its hard going at the moment, to see some of my team mates who, with all due respect, aren't that talented playing for semi-pro teams shows i gave up at a critical age. If the chance comes, i can make it but clubs don't tend to like taking on 17 year olds. I'll always have west ham football wise, but playing is the ultimate really. I'll try and get myself a trial and go from there.

For now though, desperately hoping that Carlos will stay. Hopefully, with him in our sides our fortunes will be found. [IMG]

I'm a Spurs fan, so I shouldn't be saying this considering the tone of your thread, but giving up at 17 is insane! Look at players like Ian Wright. He was at Greenwich Borough until he was nearly 22 before signing for the Scum. Give it another go!
