that the play Donavon got hurt wasnt offsides. brenston buckner or who ever tripped him first was a second offsides, and it wasnt called, THEN rucker or whoever speared at mcnabb. that should have been unnecessary roughness, 15 yards, becasue even if the whistle didnt blow, you just tap him. if this was still buddy ryan, delhome and pete wouldnt finish the game, and if dawk was out there or fred-ex there would be a fight. to think that no offensive player retaliated is a joke. i was really suprised that runyan didnt start anything either, hes known for doing that in preseason, why not the post season?

i dont know, BUT THE last 2 playoff games, the refs have been so against us that its not funny. i brought this up before, and im bringin it up again about the refs.

According to the officials, the reason a flag wasn't thrown on that late hit was because McNabb was knocked down on the play by one of his own players. He technically wasn't "down" yet.

Personally...I would have thrown the flag.

    Dawk,

I know your pain tampa had the same seniro all
year, and tampa wasnt the only team. Fact is the
nfl's officiating has went down hill. Ever since the
vinny testaverdy td with his helmet, i beleive that
knocked the dolphins out of the playoffs. Correct
me if im wrong miami fans. The nfl officials need
to be talked too. You dont make the right call all
year in regular season then swallow your whistles
in the postseason. If this was soccer in europe the
crazy ass fans would of chased the ref out of phillys
stadium. However this isnt the reason why philly lost
to the panthers. The panthers are for real.

I personally don't think it knocked Miami out of the playoffs rather it knocked Miami down to a wildcard spot & the Jets were AFC east champs. I could be wrong.

If memory serves, further, Parcells was the jets coach and it was the year Miami got worked by J'ville in the divisional round. It was the next season that the reign of Vanilla dave began.

    blackadder,

You may be right it was such a long time ago.
However didnt instant replay comeout the next
    year?

I never cared for instant replay myself. However
with some of the refs calls it needs to be in the nfl.

It did knock the Dolphins from a division title, to a wild card game....and yes, Instant Replay came back the next year because of it...it actually knocked the Seahawks out of the playoffs and got Dennis Erickson fired, had they won that game, they would have been 10-6 instead of 9-7, and maybe they make some noise in the playoffs

    Bucs40,

Beef is absolutely right about the Dolphins getting jobbed, the birth of replay, & D. Erickson.

Ahh yes it was seattle who got knocked off.
I knew miami had something to do with the
playoff senirio. Shame shame shame, and
still the refs have gotten worse.

still, the refs were against us in both playoff games, and 99.9999999% of the time mcnabb would be tapped not jumped on. i mean cheap shot or what

Arent you a defensive player??? Dont you play CB for your high school?? You play to the whislte, and if theres no whistle and the QB hasnt slide, you hit that MF as hard as you can....tapping little baby QBs is bull shit, rip that skirt off DMac and hit that sissy....Its not personal, its just that QBs are babies and they need to get fed a spoonful of ass-whup every chance you get

I would have layed the boom on McNabb too. It's only smart not cheap. With that said the refs should have blown the wistle because rucker took his shoe off and then Mcnabb fell so he was down before he was hit.

Either way I'm sick of hearing this the refs were against us shit. I don't see anything wrong with them besides they miss some calls big and small but thats life not a conspiracy. The refs don't decide the game the events as a whole do. If your team shows up the refs won't be a problem in most cases.

Yea, but i play smart. look, the star on the field gets nailed in the ribs after hes down, thats a cheap shot and id never do that. never, id hit him but not spear him and especially in the ribs.

First he didn't spear him in the ribs. You exaggerate just a little. He more hit him in the back of the hamstring bending his leg back into his chest. He didn't put the helmet or any part of his body on McNabb's ribs.

No way that was a spear, his helmet never even touched him, he actually just fell on DMans leg that was already bent upward, which compressed the leg into his chest....legal?? Yes...would i have done it?? No, I would have speared him!
