They are a good young side managed by a manager that is a strong and a no-nonsense character that is Roy Keane. They have a gd stadium with passionate fans and Niall Quinn the chairman has promised a 25mil pound war-chest in the summer. So does it look gd for Sunderland?

I think they will be a Wigan or a Reading next season

I think they are going to surprise one or two people, perhaps like Wigan and Reading with their respective first seasons. I think most people will be keeping a particularly keen eye on the Sunderland v Man United clash [IMG]

With Roy Keane behind them I think theyre gona surprise alot of ppl I cnt w8 4 their match against united, Roy Keane learnt most of if not all of his managing skills frm 1 of da best manages in the world (Sir Alex) so it shld be an interesting clash, my moneyz on united thou. I can see them finishing in the top 10 depending on summer signingz.

I think they'll stay up, but they will be fighting in the bottom half for it.

I think they will finish middle table between 8th and 13th which is decent and will be looking foward to Sunderland v United.

Definitely Sunderland vs. Manu is a great match. Not onli Roy Keane but also Dwight Yorke. They are both Manu legends and I can't wait to watch these both teams fight it out against each other.

I think the position they are going to finish is going to be who Roy Keane buys...

They're already chasing Craig Moore after he was sacked by Newcastle.

Sunderland will stay up, hopefully do better than their last Premiership experience, it was the Black Cats who got the lowest points ever in a season last time they were in it yeh?

i think sunderland will stay up the have got a very good manager in roy keane
and i think it will be a top 10 finish. it all depends who they sign in the summer. .with reference to the sunderland vs manchester united match .sunderland will get hammered it doesnt matter if roy keane is manager or not man utd will be too strong for them so lets not kid ourselve.

No matter what they did in the Championship as we all know the step up is huge. It all depends on the quality of sighnings because the team he's got now would be in a relegation battle. As for the Man U match like Fred says Man U have far too much in the tank. Just because Roy Keane is manager it won't make any difference thats just the media building that up. ALL the Sunderland fans will be bothered with is the Geordies.

I think Sunderland are already chasing former Wigan captain Arjan de Zeeuw after he left Wigan. That would be a fantastic buy!

I agree with bringiton. Sunderland will be looking to embarrass newcastle after a below average performance all season from newcastle. Roy keane is a right t*t in my opinion but he's probably one of them no nonsense managers which is sometimes a good thing and sometimes a bad thing (Graeme Souness).

But Keane is very strong mentally and he also has a winning mentality from Manu and he also installs that into his players. He has also worked with probably the 2 greatest managers in British football in SAF and Brian Clough.
