Woah woah wait. Are we forgetting possibly the greatest over acheivers in EPL history. READING What a season these lot have had. 7th/8th (I forget) and they were going to get Europe untill they lost to Watford
readsing were class in championship though, you knew straight off they had real talent when you saw them play and knew theyd do well in prems, sure 7th 8th is high but im willing to put some money on they wont be too far off next season. youd have to say chelsea underacheived to not win liek they are supposed to. watford i feel underacheived, they were let dowen by a poor defence, they had good strikers and a mint keeper. newcastle always underacheive. blackburn iover achieved a little but i guess thats what they should be aiming for these days. sorry for the typos, dam keyboard
Definatly Reading overachieved, Charlton underachieved with a really disappointing season as did Newcastle.
Watford's problem is they had no plan B once Marlon King got injured big time. Ashley Young was the next best thing from Midfield but once Villa dumped a wad of cash in their lap for him, they had no choice to gamble on survival and keep the cash for players. Look at the difference when Marlon King came back; Watford actually won a few games. It's just really shit luck it happened as Watford are a great club. Overachievers: Reading, Portsmouth Underachievers: West Ham, Wigan, Charlton, Newcastle
Player wise over half of the Chelsea team and the Chelsea team as a whole slightly under achieved. Reading obviously had a wonderful season. Charlton and Newcastle were dreadful both with decent line-ups.
Reading well over-achieved took United alot to beat them in the cup. Charlton under-achieved but it was really the boards fault 3 managers in one season also Newcastle with the Martins signing I though maybe good enough to replace Shearer but it didnt happen for them.
I think Manu overachieved this season to be honest...even as a United fan I thought the squad they had at the start of the season I thought they would finish in the top 4. And some pundits even put them fifth in the league! But look at them this season, they have been playing some fantastic football and even other times when we were not playing well we still won. And who knew the likes of Scholes, Vidic and Ronaldo would have a wonderful season? I think they overachieved

For me Reading overachieved but i think a massive under achiever this season was Arsenal (wait for the backlash) After so much talk before the season started apart from the odd game, they have been very very poor. As for Newcastle i don't think they can under achieve because first you have to achieve. Everton blueshite have been the biggest over achievers though in my eyes.
I think West Ham have under achieved until Curbs took over. I thought the squad they have should have made them in the top10 and not fighting for staying in the EPL and the season b4 when they finished the top10 and got onto the top 10 must have rly made them think that they are good players now. But luckily they survived
Bringiton: Newcastle underachieve because they are a team with serious resources and revenue who should be challenging. The amount of money they pour into new signings is insane given that there is zero return.
<div class="quote_poster">GirlDevil Wrote</div><div class="quote_post">Reading over achieved and Aston Villa under ahived.</div> Bit harsh on Villa, in my opinion. They had the worlds tightest owner in Doug Ellis for half a season but still managed to pull out a respectable league position in the end. Next season, they will be in UEFA cup contention for sure.
<div class="quote_poster">GirlDevil Wrote</div><div class="quote_post">I guess, i think Man City under achhived as well as newcastle.</div> Nah, City overachieved by staying in the premiership and sacking Stuart Pearce.
lol at stuart pearce, na man city did underachieve, they have some quality players and they should be going for uefa as well, teh ywere last season if i remember rightly
