Who are your top 5 and why? Here are mine: Essien - Need we say more? Scholes - Was like a new player, played well and was consistent all season. Gilberto Silva - Most underrated player around, Arsenal would fall apart without him, they all bomb forward leaving him to clean up everything after them. Fabregas - Young skinny player, just gets better, against Gerrard this season come out on top 3 out of 4 games, didn't play in the losing side against us or Chelsea, great vision and holds his own against bigger, stronger players. Gerrard - Played well this season, but went missing in 3 out of the 4 games against Arsenal, played okay against us at Anfield but wasn't to be seen in the Old Trafford game, his best game against the top 3 was the 2nd leg of the CL semis against Chelsea, even so he moved to right wing, he was immense via working his socks off. Only downside is he saved his best games for the CL.
I'd say for this season Lampard (outscored majority of strikers for the 3rd season running) has been best but that's only because we haven't seen Essien in CM. I would say my five are Lampard, Gerrard, Essien, Alonso and Fabregas.
I'd say Scholes and Essien is my best center mids this season. Scholes has been inspirational with his vision and his touch, just look at the pass he made to Rooney in the AC Milan in the 1st leg? That shows his class. Essien has been also fantastic this season. His energy and his all round midfield play has been exceptional and he also played in centre of defense
Well for me It would be in order Scholes - What can I say has played fantastic this season Essien - Played great and got moved to right back and is steady G. Silva - I suppose he is the heart of the Arsenal team this season Carrick - Has helped out United alot this season plays a great partnership with Scholes Fabregas - Still learning but playing great
I think Fabregas should also get a special mention also. I mean he has carried this young Arsenal team throughout the season at the age of 19 and still play quite well especially at the end shows what a kid Fabregas is
Gilberto is the best DM in the EPL by far IMO. I also strongly agree with the rest but maybe scholes first due to his excellent form recentley
What's scholes games to goal ratio? I bet it sucks... and TBO hes hardly been special this year, don't believe the sky sports hype. Lampard best CM for the third year running: Statistics - Premiership - Football - Eurosport - Can't see Gerrard on that list.

Was Lampard even nominated? Essien in my opinion has had a better season than Lampard.

Do you actually watch performances? I dont believe sky sports hype, i watch him in real life unlike you. You will see in todays game who is better. 1. Scholes 2. Essien 3. Fabregas 4. Gilberto 5. Lampard/Gerrard

How can you base your facts of statistics like them? Do they count completed passes? Who how much they run? No, probably just goals. And where has Lampards goals got you? Oooh 2nd in the premiership and a league cup! Congratulations, this just shows Lampards goals were worthless and no use in a argument.
For Scholes to come back from a career threatening injury he has done fantastic. Last year he could barely see out of his eye and now this year he has come back firing putting in fantastic displays and having England on their knees begging him to come back out of retirement.
Dan, I bet u have never watched Scholes played this season. If you do, ur jaws would be just dropping on the floor cuz he has been fantastic. Plus he doesn't scores more goals cuz he is more defensive this season.
Yawn, we have to many united supporters. Half of you are so deluded at times, it's just unreal. <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Same old boring biased Dan...stats stats stats. But tell me something: Did you take any time out to look over the stats of the website before making your clouded judgment that I'm biased? <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Lampard has been poor this season. I think some soul lemons are on the table perhaps? Did Gerrard not make the cut... <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Dan, I bet u have never watched Scholes played this season. Heck I don't even like the team but I can tell you Paul Scholes is no defensive player! He can't even make a decent tackle half the time, hence you buying Carrick and being linked with non-stop DM players! Paul Scholes plays in more or less the same position as Frank Lampard does to Chelsea, but the difference is class and being able to play consistently through-out a period of time. Just so i don't have to bother replying, please look over these two page: Frank Lampard - Football - Eurosport and Eurosport, lampards form has been like that for the past three season's now so less of this 'lampard is crap' banter.
Lampard has scored more goals this seson 22 perm goals? i think. wich is incredable for a center midfeilder.. but the games united played agenst chelsea and lampard got the bal around the box i was worried.. but this seson i havnt been as worried bi him because i dont think his performances have been as good as other sesons
Scholes has more of a defensive role than Lampard has, trust me. He doesn't make bursting runs like Lampard but he just sits there making passes. He will occasionally run into boxes but he is definitely more defensive than Lampard and another reason why Lampard scores more is because he takes free-kicks. And Dan u like stats don't you? Well, I'll give u a stat. Scholes has taken onli 42 shots from playing 45 games this season while Lampard has taken 213 shots from playing 58 games not counting England and Community Shield games. That is another obvious reason why Lampard scores more and Scholes is more defensive. Wanna argue that?

Essien - he's been world class Lampard - for scoring the amount of goals he has and the amount of assists hes had. Scholes - as said earlier he's been like a new player this season with some world class passes and first touches. Sidwell - he's been amazing for Reading Gerrard - he's hasnt been in his best position for some of the season but he's still performed well.
