Is this the same as the CL? Does the holder get automatic qualification to next year's tournament? if so, since Sevilla will be in the CL and they are the current holders, will Espanyol take that spot of automatic entry?
The winner of UEFA can't go straight into the it next year because they always go into the CL so Espanyol will have to qualify ... I think???
No the winners of the UEFA don't go into the CL. Sevilla won it last year but were in it this year. They narrowly missed out because Osasuna pipped them to 4th place. Espanyol can't qualify. They are too far behind in their league.
Its not done on who's in the final or who won it, its all about where you came in the league, the champions league is different from this ever since liverpool won it but didnt qualify for next years tournament, so they changed the rules so that the winner get to go to the qualifying rounds if not already in a high enough league place. The UEFA cup however to my knowledge have no such rule changes as of yet.
Im not sure. when Porto won it they were in the Champions League the next year and Celtic didnt get given automatic entry.
