Todays event proves that it is time for video referees. We all saw that the ball had crossed the line and it is time to introduce video refs. Why are they not being introduced? it is certainly not lack of funds. It can only make the game better.

I am very disappointed, but how can you expect the referee or the lines man to see that it was a goal, impossible if you ask me.

Football needs this to make a more fairer game.

But didn't Giggs push him over the line with his momentum? Or didn't that happen now?

It should have been a freekick for Cech anyway, i mean he saved the shot, 2 hands! Then got pushed back into his own goal, ok Giggs didn't do it deliberately, it was just his momentum taking him through but come on!! That's a foul!! Clutching at straws to say that should have been allowed!

in 1950's that goal would of counted. But that was a foul, i am more concern on how he didnt score it and that costed us the game.

Random_Butter i see that you are back online now, i wonder why...

It wouldn't have counted. Giggs technically pushed Cech over the line.

Giggs should have scored anyway, but Platini the president of UEFA is introducting 2 or 3 refs in a game. The refs would be in the goal for help in the goal-line and penaltys so maybe that will help.

In my mind the goal should hav been given. The ball clearly went over the line and it wasnt giggs' fault wen he crashed into cech. It was his own momnetum and a foul wasnt given against giggs.

well if you think, the ref didnt give a free kick he waved play-on so he didnt think it was a foul, so if he and his linesmen were actually doing there jobs and saw the ball had gone over the line, it would of been a goal

I haven't seen a replay since the live game, but from how many times I saw it, I thought it was a foul by Giggs, even when you take into account his momentum.

it was easily a foul.. cech had control of it and it was GIGGS' momentum that pushed him over the line and not cechs.. cech was in when he caught the ball and woulde stayed in the field if giggs hadnt come along and pushed him.. and no video refs should NOT be brought into the game.. if you introduce it it would be exactly like rugby over here.. the ref n the field will be of no use coz the vide ref will be used instead.. the video ref gets used for the most straight forward decisions.. the video ref will decide on offsides, goals, fouls every rule in the book.. it just takes away the contreversy and bad decisions that changes a game which makes it exciting..

You're right, because there are no touchies in football or league that make decisions that actually count lol.

Yes Giggs did push him over with momentum but did Cech get a freekick? No, he just stood up and threw out the ball so it should have counted.
