ok, so players earn 'silly' amounts a week for playing football, how much do you think its changed from what you remember as a kid football being? from when players earned nothing to what todays do, and if its got better for doing so? asin does the vast amount of money justify the actual players who earn it? all i hear off people who dont like football is the same two main things, the fact that the english premier league has a vast majority of foreign players, and the fact that they get paid more than them in one week than they earn in 2 years. ive met more people this season that dont like football, than do, footballs changing? i dont really know what i want from this thread lol, just opinions on if you guys think football is getting abit too out of hand, from players egos, to the money they earn and generally how violent its getting on and off the pitch. what do you think could actually change? is there any way to implement a salary cap (like in rugby) forcing clubs to concentrate more on youth development than overseas.. enjoy, and dont bite my head off, its an early afternoon opinion.
Everything is getting far out of hand, the main thing i took from your post Neo was that you said you met more people who dislike football than like it, the main thing this is down too is the arrival of the premiership, sky and the ludicrous ticket prices, which while bringing the game to a worldwide wider audience is a killer to the local fans and everyday people. Football used to be a sport where families went weekly to cheer on there local team, a family trip to OT nowadays would cost around 100 pound for bad tickets which is a joke. I dont think the foreign factor is a major issue for disliking football, it would be good to go back to the days of match of the day being your major football outlet
ohh god sky pisses me off, they have all the rights the matches, and don't show them all!! I'm a football fan like every other, and i want to watch my team play, i cant get to every match so i want to watch on the TV, i pay for the subscription and get shit all shown to me, then they have PPV matches... ridiculous, and even when you go to a match, i hear that they have cant give more tickets to fans for the champs league final because they are all corporate, so the fans who follow them all season cant go because some fat cat needs to make an appearance. A main point I was trying to make above is, do you think with everything thats happened to football over th years, good and bad, do you think its benefited football overall?

lol typical BeggsY reply I feel they are well overpaid espeacially players like Ballack that don't actually do anything and he gets £130,000 from wages alone
